Our clients are ranged on the full spectrum + our laser is FDA cleared and safe and for all skin types I-VI. The first laser device featuring three wavelengths able to work together at three different depths, proven to assure triple effectiveness. The synergy of the three wavelengths ensures treatment of the widest variation of skin and hair types. Thanks to the ability of the wavelengths 755nm, 808nm and 1064nm acting simultaneously on the hair's anatomy: the hair Bulge, Bulb and Papilla.

          Triple Wave Technology ® Explained

          laser hair removal southfield mi

Alexandrite 755nm: Better for fair/ light and light hair
          Skin Types: I II

The wavelength that covers a wide range of hair colors thanks to its power to absorb the energy of the melanic chromophore. Its "superficial" wavelength (the shortest of the three) aims at acting on the Hair Bulge. It is ideal for the widest range of cases associated with hairs, especially fair skin and thin hairs.

Diode 808nm: Better for medium/ tanned and dark hair
          Skin Types: III IV

The deep action of its wavelength (therefore on both Hair Bulge and Bulb) has been long used in the hair removal field. Due to its ability of absorbing melanin in a "moderate" manner, it is effective and safe on all skin types.

Nd:Yag 1064nm: Better for dark skin and dark hair
          Skin Types: V VI

Thanks to its longer wavelength, it reaches the hair papilla. Its low melanin absorption makes it the ideal instrument for darker and tanned skin.
This color blind wavelength ignores the skin's surface colors, only treating the follicle.

Laser hair removal requires multiple treatments. While results can be permanent, they do often require follow-up sessions. Maintenance treatments can vary greatly depending on the individual. Some may require follow-ups every three to four months, while others can go years in between.

History of melanoma, raised moles, suspicious lesions, keloid scar formation, healing problems, active infections, open lesions, hives, herpetic lesions, cold sores, tattoos or permanent makeup in area of treatment, recent use of some acne medications or St. John’s wort in the last year, autoimmune diseases such as Lupus, Scleroderma, Vitiligo, pregnancy, trying to get pregnant, or nursing.

Do not use a depilatory, or undergo electrolysis in the areas to be treated for at least 4 weeks.
Shaving is okay. Please come in cleanly shaven in the area to be treated. Do not tan or use self-tanner in areas to be treated for 4 weeks prior. Avoid any irritant chemical, soaps, lotions to the area for the week prior.

During the next week, you may develop a fine crust/rug-burned appearance, especially where many dark hairs were treated.

Hairs will begin to shed (DO NOT PICK AT THEM). This may last for several weeks.
Small blisters may occur. Keep the area clean. Notify us if this happens.

          1. You may apply cool compresses/ice for 15 minutes/hour for comfort.
          2. Gently clean the area twice daily with mild soap. Aloe gel can also be used.
          3. Avoid irritants (glycolics, acid, retinoids, etc.) until all redness/swelling resolves.
          4. Moisturizers may be used if they do not sting when applied.
          5. Apply sunblock (with zinc oxide) for at least six weeks if not for your lifetime
          6. Shaving should be avoided until comfortable then begin with light shaving.
          7. Avoid strenuous exercise for the day as sweating may sting.
          8. Make-up may be used as long as the skin is not broken or irritated.

What are the most popular areas for laser hair removal?

The most popular areas are female facial hair, underarms, bikini line hair and back hair for men.

What should be done before any laser hair removal treatment?

Shave the area prior to treatment. If you aren't shaved prior to treatment you will be rescheduled except the back area we understand how hard it can be so we offer prep services. Do not apply any lotions, creams, perfumes, deodorants, or any potential irritants in the treatment area. Avoid aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs, and herbal supplements to decrease the risk of bleeding.

          Are the results permanent?

Yes, there is a permanent reduction, but it’s not a one-off series of treatments. Some people will have to go back for another series at some point to keep it at bay. Those that need follow-up treatments usually have hair growth that is hormone-driven. 10-20% of females have PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), which is very common. This can cause hirsutism, which excessive hair growth. If you have it (like I do), laser hair removal doesn’t work as well when it comes to permanency. You might need to return 2-3 times on the first year, and annually thereafter. (Quick medical tip if you have PCOS: You can include a TVCS or transvaginal ultrasound on one of your OB visits to just to make sure that those cysts are kept in check. If you’re predisposed, it’s better to be safe than sorry.)
For men, who have a lot of testosterone, hair tends to be thicker (especially on the back). They will need more treatments, sometimes up to 10. And because its testosterone-driven, sometimes it returns much quicker than normal.

What are the risks of hair removal?

Laser hair removal is a lunchtime procedure. There is no recovery time. Patients can return to work or play immediately. These lasers do not remove skin, so the risks are very low. As with any procedure, we have an informed consent that explains all the possible risks.

Is there an age limit for laser hair removal?

There really is no age limit, but we never treat toddlers. Young people that are not finished growing will develop new hair as they grow, and will require touch-ups to maintain the results. We currently do not treat children under the age of 13. Some clients may have gray hair that will not respond to laser.

          Is it painful?

Compared to waxing the treatment has very little discomfort. Everyone's pain tolerance is different, our laser has a Sapphire cooling tip, combined with a protective gel layer and cold compress. Cooling protects the epidermis, as a result of which we can deliver effective laser beams to the skin. Cooling is achieved before, during or after laser treatment, referred to as pre-cooling, parallel cooling and post-cooling, respectively.

Dark Skin, Ingrown Hair. Will laser hair removal work for me? Is it safe for my skin?

Yes. We researched and found the perfect laser for every one of our client's skin types (excluding gray hair) which is the Triple Wave Technology®. Multiple wavelengths safely bypasses the skin and targets the melanin in all phases of the hair shaft, destroying the unwanted hair follicle. You will love your results!

How long before I see results?

All results are individually based on the preparation and the 3 growth cycles. Your results will be very apparent after your 3rd treatment.
