Bacne: Get rid of it NOW

by Danielle Huey

You bought the perfect swimsuit and you're ready to show off your perfect body ... but wait. Houston, we have a problem. As you were getting naked, you notice a big, red dot in your back. Yes, bacne (back + acne) it's a common problem for most teenagers. And yes, it's very inconvenient. What if you want to use a strapless dress? What if you're going to the sauna? Should I cover my back for the rest of my life?

The answer is no. Here's a list of 10 tips to get rid of bacne (for good):

1. What you wear is VERY important:

Make sure to use clean clothes. Also, change your bra on a daily basis. It should fit you enough to not irritate the back zone. Make sure you wear 100% cotton clothes as well.

2. Exfoliate on a DAILY basis

You need to get rid of dead skin cells. By exfoliating, you're also helping the bacteria out of your pores.

3. Moisturize GENTLY

Moisturize your skin after exfoliate is very important. Choose a moisturizer with a base of aloe-vera or olive-oil. Moisturize your back gently, then let it sit for a couple of minutes. Wash off the residues the next morning, and you-re ready to go.

4. Change your sheets REGULARLY

Be sure that everything you use is 100% cotton and is properly clean. Bed sheets & T-shirt are in direct contact with your skin, so be careful to clean them up every day.

5. You MUST shower after working-out

Make sure you keep your skin clean. If you let the sweat sit on your skin, the sweat can block your pores and can cause bacne.

6. The miracle of SALT water bath

Sea salt has a lot of benefits for your skin, and also it's proven to be a natural cure for bacne. By taking a salt water bath, you'll help up drying your skin and it'll cause the excessive oil build-up to clear up.

7. Conditioner is your WORST enemy

Whenever you're taking a shower, make sure that the conditioner doesn't sit on your back. The chemicals can affect your skin, causing bacne to pop-up more frequently.

8. Check you LAUNDRY detergent

You should pick a laundry detergent with no scent because it can clog and aggravate the follicles of acne-prone individuals.

9. DON'T pick them

As well as normal acne, if you pick them or pop them up you'll irritate your skin. It's best to let it be and treat them properly.

10. SPOT treat bacne
