GROW BACK YOUR EYEBROWS

by Danielle Huey

Many people end up with thin eyebrows because of over tweezing, threading and waxing.  Often times, eyebrows become thin due to the result of the aging process, improper skin care, medical conditions or nutritional deficiencies. Also, if someone is going through medical treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation they can suffer from hair loss, including on the brow line.

If your eyebrows are too thin, there are several ways to solve this problem. Here are 5 simple ways to grow back your eyebrows:

  1. STOP plucking your eyebrows!

Plucking your eyebrows aren’t going to help them grow back faster. In fact, sometimes plucking your eyebrows permanently damages hair follicles and prevents your hair from ever growing back.

  1. Exfoliate

During your eyebrow regrowth process, it’s important to exfoliate and massage your brow area. By stimulating the skin you are encouraging skin and hair follicles to start producing more hair. You can either purchase a soft facial brush at the store or you can make your own sugar scrub. Be careful not to brush too hard; rub the skin in gentle circles. If you use lots of pressure when scrubbing your face, you may loosen the hairs that are still in place.

  1. Hire a professional

Have your eyebrows maintained only from a professional esthetician? They have the experience in shaping brows and can give you a flattering shape during your brow regrowth process. You can also have the esthetician tint your brows which make your brows look a lot fuller and typically last up to 2 to 3 weeks.

  1. Use an eyebrow pencil

While you eyebrows are growing back, you can draw them in using a brow pencil. Pick a shade that matches your brow color or a shade lighter. Use only light and short pencil strokes on your brows. Also, draw in your brows in the same direction as your hair growth. Remember not to go overboard, avoid trying to give yourself thicker eyebrows, just fill in the gaps for now until your brows become fuller.

  1. Take care of your body

Stimulate your hair growth by maintaining proper nutrition. This includes eliminating stress and physical activity. Implement plenty of protein, vitamin B, omega 3 in your diet, these have been proven to also stimulate hair growth.

If you aren’t seeing any regrowth after a few months, you should consult with a dermatologist. A medical professional can give recommendations for prescriptions for hair growth. There are lots of techniques on how to regrow back your eyebrows. One or all these ways to regrow eyebrows will help strengthen your hair while nourishing your hair follicles which ultimately promotes new hair growth.
