It is important that we know any medications that you are taking and/or any skin products that you are using. This can ensure a safe and successful waxing experience.
If you are taking or have taken any of these medications within the past three months, we need to talk. Please contact before scheduling an appointment:
Some medications may cause the skin to thin or to be extra sensitive to waxing. Thin, sensitive skin can lift with the wax.
If you are currently using any of the following products, they can cause the skin to be overly sensitive. Please inform me prior to your appointment.
Other Acne medications not listed above
Alpha Hydroxy Acids (Glycolic, Lactic)
Retinol
Salicylic Acid
Exfoliants/Laser Peels/Microdermabrasion
Remember, it’s important that you inform or update you consent form on what medications you may be taking so we can provide you with a safe waxing experience. If you are taking a medication or using a product that has changed your skin in any way, and you are unsure about the safety of waxing, please talk to your doctor first.
- Please shower before your appointment.
- Wear loose fit clothing (joggers, legging etc.) + a tank (underarm wax)
- Hair must be a quarter of an inch a.k.a. long enough to pull them with your fingertips.
- Resist the urge to shave between sessions. Shaving chafes the skin and creates sharper, coarser hair!
- Gently exfoliate the night before or take a warm bath to prep the skin before your wax. Having a warm bath or shower before your wax can soften your skin allowing for easier hair removal. We also recommend exfoliation the night before as this removes dead skin build up around and in the follicle again aiding in easier and more thorough removal.
- The first time is the worst time, know that it gets better after every wax. We Promise!
- Remember, it will be over before you know it. Being fuzz-free is so worth a couple minutes of discomfort!
- Come to your appointment as relaxed as you can. Like a lot of things in life, the anticipation is often worse than the actual event. Don’t listen to friends who tell you their waxing horror stories. They don’t come to us! Youtube videos and movie scenes with screaming guys will only make you more anxious.
8-12 hours | No exercise or sexual intercourse.
24 hours | No tanning, hot showers, baths or swimming.
2 days AFTER | Daily: POWER GEL +
POWER PADS to regenerate cells + exfoliate dead skin.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW LONG WILL MY WAX | SUGAR LAST?
Usually your wax will last between 3–6 weeks but everyone’s rate of regrowth is different so results will vary for everyone. Hair will begin to grow back softer and thinner following your first visit. TIP: Don’t wait till it fully grows back. If the hair is long enough to pull then it's time for your next visit.
CAN I STILL WAX BECAUSE I’M PREGNANT?
Yes, you can still wax but you may experience more skin sensitivity due to the hormonal changes your body is going through. We will try to make you as comfortable as possible during the service. We recommend checking with your OB/GYN during the last two months of pregnancy.
CAN I STILL WAX | SUGAR IF I TANNED THE DAY BEFORE?
Wait at least 24–48 hours between waxing and tanning because your skin may be more sensitive and you’re more likely to experience sunburn.
HOW LONG SHOULD MY HAIR BE TO GET WAXED | SUGARED?
We always say that if you can grab the hair then so can the wax.
CAN I WAX | SUGAR DURING THAT TIME OF THE MONTH?
Sure, just be aware that the area is more sensitive and you may experience more discomfort than usual. We ask that you apply a new tampon prior to your appointment.
